I’m baaaack. Let me tell you, this has been the summer to end all summers. It is amazing I even made it back, let alone alive and managed to celebrate my 14th birthday!

Ready? Here is the poop scoop. Arrived in Anchorage about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25th. So far, so good. The guys met us, and off we went in the big truck. Did I mention BIG. Nice ride, but I was very antsy to get out and snarf (among other things, like look for the fire hydrant). So, the door is opened, (picture this) I am in the backseat of a double cab BIG, tall truck and jump out. Yes, I think I thought I was a squirrel, or one of those creature types like..a..cat that will land on all fours.

Okay, I did land on all fours. The right back leg didn’t fare so well and the pain, well it was downright excruciating. I could barely walk, yes, it was very very pathetic. The next morning was even worse. It was Monday before I got the “exam”, the one we already knew the answer to. Surgery on Wednesday. Thank heavens I am loved!! Now I have a very expensive right knee held together by fishing line.

The next few days weren’t much better, but I was very very brave and only whimpered a few times. Then….Harry arrived. Have I mentioned Harry? He is the replacement for the now deceased Kobe. He is a chocolate lab puppy with a tail that never ever stops and he thinks we are friends. Yeah, right, like that’ll happen. Anyway he shows up for the weekend and wants to play. Is he kidding me or what, I can barely walk and for sure not run or jump. So what’s a guy to do? I just put him in his place, that’s what. A really really scary growl with teeth bared and he was a quivery mass of jelly.

As the summer progressed I pretty much did nothing. Looked pathetic whenever the chance arose and scared Harry as often as possible with my ferocious growl and bared teeth. Alas, summer was much too short and it was time to leave. Well, that didn’t work out too well. Summertime, Alaska, tourists put them all together and what do you get….long waits at the airport. Of course we got there almost two hours early, but by the time I was inspected (how embarrassing) from head to toe by the spa, tpa, psa or whatever and escorted to the plane at least an hour had gone by. Of course you know who had to get through security and, as usual long lines, understaffed, yada yada yada. So with 20 minutes to spare off she goes to the gate only to find…..horror of horrors, the plane has shut the door and is pulling away from the gate. FIFTEEN MINUTES EARLY! OMG! Do you know what this means?

Yes, they pulled me from the plane at the very last second! Of course, this did not bode well for anyone. But, and because she learned from the master, a pathetic face and a quivering voice got us on the very next plane. Exhausted I tell you, I was totally exhausted! So my summer had a lot of ups and downs and I am still not jumping, but I am looking forward to seeing all my friends and meeting new ones too, so stop by, say hello and I will give you a wag or two.

WEBKINZ!! I am so excited. We've had the hippo and polar bear, the google is waiting for you to take it home. Each month we get the "pet of the month" so check back regularly to keep those children happy!

see ya, love ya, mean it!
